Matt Cares is a local, independent service providing non-medical caregiving, daily assistance and patient in-home tech support for seniors and older adults in Contra Costa County. It's not an agency. There's no rotating staff or intake coordinators. It's one person providing steady, personal support.
With an agency you typically get rotating caregivers who are learning your routine from scratch each visit. Matt Cares is one person, every time. Matt builds a real relationship with the people he helps and the families behind them. That consistency is the whole point.
Matt provides non-medical support including companionship, errands, grocery shopping, light meal prep, appointment transportation, medication reminders, light household organization, safety check-ins, routine-building and support during early memory challenges. He also helps with paperwork, scheduling, coordinating service providers and calendar management.
Matt provides patient, in-home tech help for seniors in plain English. That includes smartphone and tablet setup, email, passwords, apps like FaceTime and Life360, smart TV and streaming setup, printer troubleshooting and scam awareness education. No jargon, no rush, no judgment.
Yes. You don't need to be a caregiving client to get tech support. Many people reach out just for help with a phone, tablet, email or streaming setup. Matt works with both ongoing caregiving clients and people who just need occasional tech help.
Matt Cares is non-medical support. Services do not include bathing, dressing or toileting assistance, wound care, medication administration, skilled nursing, heavy lifting or physical transfers, 24-hour care or financial advising. If you need medical care or personal care assistance, Matt is happy to help you find the right provider.
Matt is based in Walnut Creek and serves families throughout Contra Costa County. That includes Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Alamo, Danville, Concord, Lafayette, Orinda, Moraga, Benicia, Martinez, Pacheco and surrounding areas. If you're not sure whether your area is covered, just ask.
Yes. Matt has more than five years of hands-on dementia care experience and is the primary caregiver for his own parents. He understands how to stay calm and patient during confusion or forgetfulness and knows how to balance independence with safety. Matt Cares is not a substitute for medical care but provides meaningful daily support.
Matt is a California Registered Home Care Aide with more than 10 years of experience helping seniors and adults with disabilities. He has more than five years of hands-on dementia care experience and is CPR and First Aid certified. He is also the primary caregiver for his own parents.
Absolutely. Many people who reach out are adult children looking for reliable help for a parent. Whether you're nearby or managing things from out of town, Matt can be a steady point of contact and coordination. You're welcome to share as much or as little about the situation as you'd like.

Matt is available Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM and Saturday from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Sunday is closed. Matt typically responds to messages within 24 hours.
